Does this block fit on a 5850, or will a different block be developed?

Well, just registered a new account for this question:

I've noticed that the liquid flow on the Danger Den 5870 block covers only the GPU and most of the memory chips. However, what about the VRMs?

They seem pretty far away from the the source of coolant.

This is in contrast to 'some other brands' of 5870 Blocks.

how will this affect the performance?

No performance difference. If you look at all of the produced blocks over the years the vrm's have always been cooled. Temperatures have always been significantly below recommended temperatures.

I see. so It'll still be below recommended temperatures while overclocking? (i'm not going to voltmod btw)

As such, I have bitten the bullet and taken advantage of the unprecedented discount and have order one block.

I'll see how it goes, Danger Den isn't an often used brand here in Singapore.

Hopefully, this will be a recommendable brand here :D

I was just wondering if you knew of any card vendors that might be selling this pre-attached to a 5870? I am pretty comfortable with water cooling but I cringe every time I think about removing a fan from an existing card. Having one already attached would make me feel a lot more comfortable.

Will there be an option for the 5770 also?

At this time I don't know what the changes are to that card so I don't have an eta.

Ah. mine has arrived from half way across the world.

Now, Could I ask a question about the instructions?

it tells me to put thermal paste (not a thermal pad) on the memory chips!

Yes it does. It's machined for paste, not the thickness of the pads.
