Ok though I do have a question now , Do i have 4 rad fans , 2x120mm on the front and back in a push pull motion or do i just keep to 2x120mm in the rear pulling over the rad , bare in mind there will be 2x80MM fans in the top of this case extracting air out as well ? The water loop will be colling an E6600 and just one 8800GTX

So far

Ok guys I have come across a little problem .

I want to mount 4x120mm fans in a push pull motion around the rad .

Trouble is I am not to sure what to do now ,,

My suggestion is this and please excsue the doodle .

Image

The Black part would be 2 more 120MM Silent Eagle fanns ,the red part would be the bolts going through the Rad the case and both fans , there would be 8 bolts in total . The blue at the bottom would be some kind of support to hold the weight of the rad and not stress the case ?

What do you guys think ?

Nope!

Screw all 4 fans to both sides of rad, then attach the 2 fans on the front of the rad directly to the case. Don't worry about stressing the case because you aren't really even close to...

As said...just screw the fans to the radiator on each side then bolt the fans to the case. Do not puncture the tubes or fins as it could lead to a leak.

I go all the way thru . . .use 1 1/2" screws, add a couple nuts to the screw before you use it, measure to make sure it will not damage the fins, and go for it. Each build is different but if you measure and measure again to be sure you will be ok.

...but DB, BE11 asked if he could put 8 screws through everything...case, fans, rad, fans...everything.

Your method will work too I suppose, I prefer to have everything secured before trying to attach something else though. I've spent too much of my life trying to get everything to play nice with everything else, that I'm willing to spend a couple extra bucks to make sure stuff stays put where I want it, not where it wants to go.

That'll do.

The fan on the PSU has traditionally been used to help exhaust warm air from the case. I'm guessing the DD boys figured "why mess with tradition?".

Nice choice on your fan controller. I have the Super Flower version and it is by far that best controller I've ever used.

That large fan on your PSU is the intake fan, not the other way around.

I have tried mounting the rad assembly the way JERM said and the way I said and found it a total pain to try to mount the rad with fans to the case with shorter screws and nuts verses having the screw go all the way to the rad. It also makes it very hard to take it off it you can even mount it with all 8 holes. Granted I have big fat arse sausage-like hands and JERM is svelt and sexy thin. . .

I have started adding fan filters so I use even larger screws . . .like I said just measure carefully and add nuts to the screw to shorten it as needed or use washers. The ideal way would be to have clear acrylic washers . . .

Nothing wrong mounting it that way as long as the tubes are not punctured. A couple of the radiator series do have the tube directly in the way...not a good thing.

Always check and check then check again. Ever since I had a PA 120.2 leak after gettting everything thing put together (not in a waterbox tho) I am paranoid about the rad getting punctured . . .tho I did not puncture that rad.

You should be able to, it can handle 18W @1.5A. I recommend you read this for some added insurance though.

Ok guys thx . The 6 fans i wanted to plugg in were 4x120MM around the radiator and 2 x 80MM exhuast fans for the top of the box .

I have decided to plugg in tye two 80MM fanns into the Mobo .

I am having nightmares about this build now and feel that I may have bitten off more than i can chew , i would love it to look something like Fletch's rigg if at all possible .

Ok sure i will get there this forum has been a wealth of knowledge so far .

I need a little direction in as what to do next ? Whats the best way to arrange the HDD ? Should i now install my mobo and work around that aas well ?

I aslo need some direction in cable management and especially sleeving ?
