Installation of a Water Block System

List of Parts (Assuming you already have a computer :)

1 -- Water Block

1 – Radiator

1-2 – Fans for the Radiator

1 – Pump (best place to get the Eheim pumps is here)

1 – T Fitting for the Fill Line

9 – Hose Fasteners

10 – Feet of 3/8” Inner Diameter Hose (5/8” OD Recommended)

1 – Small amount of Thermal Paste (like Arctic Silver)

·        Mount the fans to the radiator.  It is more efficient to pull the air through the radiator then to push the air through.

·        Mount the radiator to the case.

·        Place a small amount (very thin layer) of thermal adhesive to the CPU.

·        Mount the water block to the CPU.  If you are using the MAZE1 check here or the MAZE2 here.  Double check to make sure the Water Block is lapped.

·        The pump can be placed in the case or fastened to it (inside the dotted lines can be a submersible pump in a reservoir, no fill line needed).

·        Run hose from the pump to the water block.  Clamp both ends.

·        Run hose from the water block to the radiator.  Clamp both ends.

·        Run hose from the radiator to the 3/8” T fitting.  Clamp both ends.

·        Attach a length of 3/8” tubing (about 2 feet) to the top of the T fitting (the top of the filler line must be the highest point in the cooling system to prevent the possibility of water backing out).  Clamp it and plug the other end.

·        Attach hose to the T fitting and the pump.  Clamp the hose end at the T fitting.

Congrats the system is Assembled!!

But wait!!!  You need water, so:

·        Prepare a bucket of distilled water.  Be sure to add 1 ounce of water wetter per quart (4oz per gallon)

·        Place the pump in the bucket and turn it on.  Make sure the other end of the hose is over/in the bucket (don’t want water flying into your computer).

·        Once all of the air is out of the lines connect the hose back to the pump (under the water).  Clamp it.

·        The last step is to put water in the filler line.  This will allow for extra protection just incase some water disappears somehow.  You never know about that X-File stuff.

Cooling with a Peltier???

These are the best guides we have found.  Ramil does a good job describing what needs to be done.    Though these are tailored towards air-cooling the same principles are applied to water blocks!!
