Now is the time to cool your new ATI 4870 X2 card! This monster video card cries for a waterblock which cools the GPU, voltage regs and RAM on one side. The cool GDDR4 RAM on the backside is cooled by the stock backplate. Get your card quiet, cool and faster with this upgrade!
Author: Michael Stevens Very impressed with the quality of components as well as the speed of delivery. Dropped my idle from 83C to 32C (ATI had the fan speed rediculously slow) and load from 86C to 43C. I would recommend this block to anyone sporting a 4870x2. Thanks DD!
Author: Brad I I previously bought the DD waterblock for the HD2900XT and it performed beautifully. I actually think that this one is EVEN BETTER! I too idled at 60c+ and around 90c under peak load on a single fan cooled 4870X2. Now my idle is around 39c and around 53c under harsh OC'd load. Great product!
Author: Rustynail This waterblock brought my idle temp from 62c down to 36c . Looks great and easy install. Another outstanding product from the Den.
Author: Jake M Super craftsmanship and fits nice on the card. The screws that go thru the backing plate to the copper block are to short. i ended up striping the first few threads on a few holes. So i had to get some 3/8 long ones from the hardware store. they need to ship longer ones, the holes are deep enough and have enough thread for 3/8 screws. other then that i had to reuse some of the thermal pad from the stock cooler, the kit was just a little short. THIS THING ROCKS< keeps the card nice and cool.
Author: grumpy1 Just installed this on my HIS 4870x2 yesterday . Dropped my idle temps by a whopping 50c now idles at 33c and load down to 42c from 90c using Furmark. Instructions where easy to understand and it mounted properly with no mods. I am very happy that I purchased this gpu block , it really tamed the beast that is the 4870x2 :) It may not look as nice as some other brands but it works awesome. Higly recommend to anybody looking to wc their 4870x2.
Author: Patriot 3 These things have completely stabilized my system. I have two 4870x2s in crossfire and I was getting temperatures under load of 70-75 degrees Celsius or more with the stock fans and heatsinks, even with the fan speed at 80 percent or more. As a result, applications just quit after awhile. Now, I get an idle temperature on the primary card of 29-30 degrees Celsius (the second card is about 33-34 degrees C at idle), with temperatures under full load (e.g. playing Crysis, Far Cry 2, etc. for an hour or more at a time) of 40-44 degrees Celsius maximum. I have had only one crash (playing Mass Effect) since I installed the blocks a week ago, and I am not sure I would blame the cards for that. The only trouble I noticed was coolant leaked from the little screws near the nozzles on one of the blocks when I first fired up the pump. The leaking quit when I backed off one of the nozzles slightly, and it has been bone dry ever since. I am using a Koolance external unit and 3/8-inch tubing. Other than that little glitch, I have no complaints. Great product!
Author: Ramon Highet I just bought my second water block for a 4870 X2 video card. My first one has performed flawlessly in the 1 year that i have owned it. Danger Dan has put out nothing but quailty hardware as far as i'm concerned.
running QX9770 ON ASUS P5E BOARD WITH 8GIGS DDR2 1066 MEM AND SOON 2 4870 X2
Author: Tony Romano I bought the 8800 GTX block two years ago from the Den it has performed flawlessly. There is no doubt in my mind that this block will perform the same.No need to shop around. The Den has the goods.
