This was my first time doing anything with water cooling, so I had no idea what to expect since "pretty loud" or "quiet" are all relative terms.
I am impressed with how quiet it is. The pump gives off a high-pitched continuous tone, that I (with good ears) can only hear when I level with the pump within a few feet. When I put the pump inside the case, I hear nothing at all, it's amazing.
On the down-side, I tried to adjust the speed of the pump to see how it would effect the system, and the red dial made a loud snapping noise when turned to 4. I quickly turned it back to 3 and haven't had a complaint since.
Author: aaron I'm ordering my second of these pumps, used the first in a high-end customer rig. All I can say is that it's an amazing pump. Sound like a mini-jet when it starts up, then gets really quiet. Once again, Danger Den provides an amazing product.. I tried to find it cheaper directly from Laing (supplier) and even wholesale companies, and couldn't.. Hat's off to Danger Den!
This thing flows so much water, it's really amazing. My only gripe is that the velcro has a hard time holding, so use the screw mount option.
Author: Ryan Great pump, using 1/2 tygon tubing with it and it fits perfect on this pump. Super quiet and pretty small for how powerful this pump is. also nice that it gives you the option to use a 4-pin and 3-pin power connector. easy install with velcro straps.
Author: BlackPanther Powerful pump for high-end cooling, but if speed is set above #3 some high-frequency sound is emitted from the motor, this sound is really disturbing me at night. My Eheim1250 is 20% less powerful, but a bit quieter(good amorted, no noticeable sound at all).
Author: Joe I've been running an older model of this pump and its been going strong for almost 7 years now. I'm about to pick up a second one for a new PC build. Quiet, powerful, and they've outlasted my computers. What more could you ask for?!?!
