The Gentle Typhoon is also silenced by the newly designed Japanese servo motor and the double ball bearing design. The new support mechanism uses coil dampers to greatly reduce vibration.

Installed a pair of these on a Scythe Mugen II and dropped idle temp by 4c while lowering full load temp by 6c. Had to look into the case to see if they were even running. Even when all four case fans are on silent mode (Asus Fan Expert Crosshair IV Formula), I still couldn't here them at all. Very pleased with quality, industrial grade units. Worth every penny!!!
